- Jonathan, thanks for pinch-hitting......I AM fairly competent,
- technically, as I have been an electronics technician for a very large
- corporation for a while, in addition to running my own consulting firm. I
- ALMOST responded to this message, but killed the reply.....we've all seen
- this sort of thing on the net before, eh?
-
- I've been running a series of tests on the modem, and have encountered
- *NO* problems, as I've not encountered any Motorola units! Speeds actually
- *maintained* have topped out at 26,400; repeat; *maintained* speed. I
- attribute some loss to the wiring in this eighteen year old house, BTW!!
-
- The modem doesn't appear to be emitting any RFI, although I do not
- recall having ever seen asynchronous *transmissions* that DID emit,
- although some devices do within the case. My guess is that internal modems
- RFI would impact the motherboard most...never seen any laws making
- modulation/demodulation illegal, can't comment there.
-
- In short, "noncarborundum illegitimi" (don't let the illegitimates get
- to you!)
